I have been coming to Strong Heart now, for 1 year and 2 months. I got started because of Bailey Stitt. She had highlights of her training at Strong Heart that I watched, and I decided to give it a try. I had never woken up at 5 am to work out before, but that’s when Bailey went, so I went with her! Honestly, my first class was intimidating, and it felt like everyone was on a higher level than me… But that motivated me! I was out of shape and not confident in myself, but I didn’t like being last, and I wanted to be able to do the things the longtime members were doing, so I kept coming back. When I started at Strong Heart, I was in the worst shape I’ve ever been in. I had serious back and joint issues, and it didn’t take much for me to get winded. Working on the road, I developed bad eating habits that left me with some weight and fat issues. I had no workout routine before starting. I’d attempted many times to start one, but every time I tried, I just felt weighed down and not very fluid in motion. But since starting, I’ve lost and kept off 15 pounds, I have almost no back pain, and my joint issues are increasingly getting better. I can see major changes in my body that are well beyond any results from previous workout routines. But the biggest thing for me is how I feel, both physically and mentally. I started because I was struggling with confidence and was overweight, and my mom encouraged me to come to class. I was working out at another gym pretty often before I started, but I didn’t know what I was doing and I wasn’t getting results. My first class was tough! I didn’t think it would be as challenging as it was, and I wasn’t going to come back, but my mom made me, lol! 😂 But now I am thankful that she did! Since starting at Strong Heart, I have also started eating better, and I’ve lost 40 pounds! I have way more confidence than I used to, and I just feel better in general. Before I started with Strong Heart I was very overweight, didn’t feel strong. Living with that Feeling was miserable, honestly. I was pretty athletic and in shape for most of my life. I felt weak to the point that even just getting up and down from the floor to play with my daughter was a challenge. The thing that was different at Strong Heart was probably everything, I’ve never done anything like this before at all. I always thought I had to already be “in shape” or just something different than who I was to do something like this. I wasn’t in shape at all and I just needed to show up as I was.
